"I planted the seed... but God made it grow." I Cor. 3:6
"For God to reveal His Son in us is not the result of research
or searching; it is entirely a matter of mercy and revelation. It is an
inward seeing, an inner knowing."
"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Galatians
Spirit of God, descend upon my heart;
Wean it from earth, through all its pulses move;
Stoop to my weakness, mighty as Thou art,
And make me love Thee as I ought to love.
I ask no dream, no prophet ecstasies,
No sudden rending of the veil of clay,
No angel visitant, no opening skies:
But take the dimness of my soul away.
Hast Thou not bid us love Thee, God and King?
All, all Thine own - soul, heart and strength and mind!
I see Thy cross -- there teach my heart to cling:
O let me seek Thee, and O let me find!
Have you seen God's hand at work in your life or circumstances? Thank
Him. And then tell someone about it. By sharing our insights with others,
we make them more real in ourselves. We will not only bring hope and strength
to others, we strengthen ourselves.
God is real and active in our world. But all too often we live as if He
is not. Seek and you shall find. The original greek word actually means,
"Seek and keep on seeking... knock and keep on knocking." The
persistent quest will find its due reward.
"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a
snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you
then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who
ask him!" Luke 11:11-13
