"I planted the seed... but God made it grow." I Cor. 3:6

Obedience is the highest form of worship

"Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Matthew 7:13,14

As a young man I used to visit the U.S. headquarters of the Worldwide Evangelization Crusade (W.E.C.), an organization committed to world evangelization and to living by faith in complete dependence upon God's provision. The following quotes have been preserved in one of my notebooks, recorded during one of those visits. As Martin Luther once said, "The weakest ink is stronger than the strongest memory."

"With all the promises the Lord gives us concerning prayer, it is amazing that we don't pray more. It is a real enigma."
Duane Olson

"We can all be busy -- but are we busy about the most vital things?" Elwin Palmer

"Live in God, not your emotions. I'm an emotional person, too. Live in God. In Him we live and move and have our being; not in our emotions. Live in God." Bessie Adams

And quotes from Alfred Ruscoe, who served with C.T.Studd in the Belgian Cong during the 1920's...
"The supreme test of faith is waiting, and it yields the supreme reward."

"Waiting, and being content to wait, can be the most difficult thing in Christianity."

"Norman (Grubb) says that what happens to you is incidental, but how you react is all-important."

"Older Christians develop an appetite for for death -- because they know life (resurrection life) comes out of death."

Rees Howell's paraphrase of Hebrews 11:1 and 2
"When my prayer has become equal to the substance of the thing prayed for, I have the evidence of it in myself."

"The life of faith is 10% guidance and 90% giving."
Rees Howells
